Waiver and Release of Liability

            As a member of the East Valley Eagles Rugby Football Club, I agree to abide by the following code and to promote fair play and sportsmanship at all times towards coaches, parents, teammates, opponents, and match officials.  I also understand that I will be responsible for my actions and any consequences resulting from violation of this contract.

  1. I realize that as a member of the team, we must all participate in all team practices, matches and meetings.  I accept the responsibility of being at practice, on time, for at least 80% of the practice sessions held, and making myself available for all matches, and meetings. In the event that I am unable to participate in a practice, game or meeting, Iunderstand that it is my responsibility to make arrangements with coach at least 24 hours in advance. I accept that if I do not follow this code, I may not be selected to a position for the next match.
  2. I am aware that the use or possession of tobacco, drugs, including steroids, or alcoholic beverages in any form will not be tolerated regardless of quantity.  Any violation occurring at any time during the present season will result in a suspension for the rest of the season from the East Valley Eagles HS Rugby Football Club and from participating in the Rugby Arizona league.
  3. The use of profane language is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.  This includes directing language to opponents, coaches, match officials, and spectators.  Violation can result in placement in the “Sin Bin” as instructed by the referee.  Repeated offenses will result in my being ejected from the game and reported to the Rugby Arizona State Based Rugby Organization (SBRO) for disciplinary action, which may include suspension from play.
  4. I agree to abide by the rules of play as set forth and explained in the text of the USARFU Handbook and Laws of the Game www.usarugby.org  Laws-guidelines for the season.  As the laws state in incidents of “foul play” i.e., fighting, taunting, bullying or dangerous play, I will be subject to placement in the “Sin Bin” as instructed by the referee.  Repeated offenses will result in my being ejected from the game and reported to the Rugby Arizona State Based Rugby Organization (SBRO) for disciplinary action, which may include suspension from play.
  5. I understand that it is mandatory that each player serve a minimum 8-10 hours of Community Service,supervised by active coach or assigned parent example (i.e.concession stand duties, field preparation duties,etc.).
  6. I agree to maintain acceptable grades (no failing grades) and to report grades to Club Officers and Coaches. In the event that my grades fail to meet expectations, I will not be permitted to play in the games until Club Officers and/or Coach receive verification of passing grade; nonetheless, I will still be expected to attend practices and meetings.
  7. I understand , I must conduct myself responsibly, both on and off the field, in order  to participate with the East Valley Eagles Rugby Club

 

This Contract is in effect as of the signing date until the culmination of the current season including playoffs and Championship matches and extending through Seven’s Rugby Season.

AS THE PARENT and player, we have read the above rules and understand that my son/daughter will be governed by these rules as a player for the East Valley Eagles Rugby Football Club.
